First
essential guide for understanding US business culture
30.05.02
Working
With Americans, published 30 May by Prentice Hall Business,
is the first ever guide on how to succeed in doing business
with people from the US. Written by Americans Allyson Stewart-
Allen and Lanie Denslow, it sheds long-needed light on US
business culture, explaining how to understand potentially
deal-breaking differences in values, etiquette and language
- and how best to capitalise on them.
Included
in the book are many tips on how to be successful in business
with Americans, whether they be working in the US or abroad,
plus dozens of colourful and amusing anecdotes about American
business relationships gone awry. Its aim is to save readers
time and money, as well as aggravation and frustration,
in their dealings - existing or potential - with American
business people.
The
book's interactive website, www.workingwithamericans.com,
invites visitors to sample chapters and selected Top Tips,
as well as share their best, and worst, personal experiences
of working with Americans.
This
is the only available guide to American business psychology
and philosophy and has been positively endorsed by Ed Reilly,
president of the American Management Association, and European
and US business leaders. Working With Americans not only
demonstrates why Americans think and operate as they do,
but also shows what you can do to play to your US business
colleagues, preferences and thinking patterns.
But
this is not just a book for business people. Anybody with
an interest in US cultural differences and psychology can
enjoy Working With Americans. In recognition of this, co-author
Allyson Stewart-Allen was invited to the Hay on Wye Literary
Festival to debate US culture.
Working
With Americans - How To Build Profitable Business Relationships
